Service Leadership Programs (SLP)

In addition to clubs for adults, Kiwanis offers Service Leadership Programs, known as SLPs, for high school and college students. SLPs are leadership and character-building programs often sponsored by a Kiwanis club or another civic organization. The Kiwanis Club of Washington, D.C. sponsors Key Club and Circle K clubs.

What are Kiwanis SLPs?

Circle K International
Circle K International (CKI) is the world’s largest student-led collegiate service organization. Based on the tenets of service, leadership, and fellowship, CKI develops college and university students into responsible citizens and leaders with a life-long commitment to service. We currently sponsor chapters at American University and The George Washington University. Kiwanis members and these CKI members volunteer side-by-side, and Kiwanis members offer mentoring to students in their college years and beyond.

Key Club
Key Club members around the world are learning how to lead and stand for what’s right through service and volunteerism. In partnership with their local Kiwanis club, high school students make a positive impact as they serve others in their schools and communities. In doing so, they grow as individuals and as leaders by answering the call to lead, summoning the courage to engage and developing the heart to serve. We currently sponsor a Key Club chapter at the School Without Walls High School.
